On this day in 1971 {February 21st} The 5th Dimension, in a duet with actress Connie Stevens, performed "Puppet Man" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'...

Ten months earlier on April 18th, 1970 their version of the song entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #24 and spent 8 weeks on the Top 100...

Original group member Ron Townson passed away on August 2nd, 2001 at the age of 68...

R.I.P. Mr. Townson and Mr. Sullivan {1901 - 1974}...

Never heard this group in my life till just now while watching an old re-run of the tv show "It takes a thief" episode: "Sing a song of murder" starring Robert Wagner. I was blown away by their vocals and had to start the Google search and glad I did. Thanks to "ANTENNA TV" on KTLA 5.2 for their awesome classic tv shows.
