He signed a recording contract in 1959 with Columbia Records, which produced eight singles of which 'Too Young' reached No.29 in the UK charts. His biggest success was however, in Ceylon, his homeland where 'Too Young' reaching No. 1 in the Sri Lankan charts knocking off Cliff Richards's 'Living Doll'. • Thank you Aruna. This song is still popular on the SLBC English Commercial service. Infact, heard it in last December during holidays too!! Bill Forbes is a product of Sri Lanka shot to fame in the BBC during the late 50s and 60s.

  • I've heard this song over the radio long time back...didn't know who sang it. A really beautiful song. This version is also beautiful. Nice job with visual mixing...!!

    Thanks for sharing..!!

  • Thank you Palitha for the comment. Yes, you are right, I used to enjoy this as a kid listening to SLBC (CBC then) on family choice. Jim Reeves is still big in SL, and remember used to listen to ' The Jim Reeves Quarter'.

  • I Remember listening to this song as a kid, on my fathers record player, also he had a vast collections of Jim Reeve's records too.

You have done a wonderful job, with fine mixing.

    Thanks for posting.

Anil Bhaarathi sang a duet for the film Damayanthi with Indrani "Paaya karuna daya gune" in 70's, the song was a cover version of the english song "There's a song I like to sing"
