This quick how to is the knot that I use when mackerel fishing and need to use single strand wire. Thanks to Rodd who first showed it to me. The knot eliminates the need to use a swivel or ring and has not failed us yet. It is great when trolling lures as a swivel can create a bubble trail that the mackerel will jump on, snipping the main line and losing the lure and fish.

The tag end of the wire can be snipped off 3mm (1/8") back or you can finish it off with a haywire to keep it neat. Snip the mono off about 3mm back from the knot.
