OTEP is a heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. So far the band has released four best selling albums, each of which has been more successful than the last.

In April 2007, CNN nominated lead singer Otep Shamaya as a person you should know, joining the ranks of previous nominees such as The Pope and U2 lead singer Bono. Shamaya also spoke at the 2008 Democratic National Convention as part of the Rock The Vote campaign.

You can catch OTEP on tour in 2010 promoting their latest album Smash The Control Machine.
