Scientifically: should dead bodies be burned or buried?

(Q). I want to ask the question, that after the death of human being, dead body should be burnt out, or should be buried?
(Dr. Zakir Naik). The brother has posed a question that after human being dies - Should his body be burnt or should it be buried? Let us analyze it scientifically, which is more appropriate. Brother as I told in my talk, during the question answer time I believe, that the elements, the constituent, of human beings is present in lesser or greater quantity in the soil, in the earth. So we are created from earth we should go back to the earth - it is logical. Its easier for us to go back into the earth point number one. Point number two is, that if you burn a body there is pollution, there is environmental hazard environmental hazard is there - when you bury a body there is no environmental hazard. In fact, the place where you bury point number three, the ground and the surrounding ground becomes more fertile. Point number four, it is very cheap to bury. We do not require any money - Earth is freely available there are graveyards. But to cremate to burn, you require tons and tons of wood. Therefore, every year if you see statistics, our government goes in loss of millions of rupees, because they are burning wood loss to environment, environmental problem, hazard, and plus waste of money. If you calculate the amount of people that are dying - amount of people we are burning it is a loss of money, hazard to the environ­ment, it is much more logical and scientific to bury the body than to burn. OK I'll use logic

1400 years ago, enemies of Islam tried their best to defame and mock the Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him) and yet, none of them called him a pedophile, or spoke against his marriage to such a 'young' girl. Logic tells me this is because 1400 years ago, it was normal to have big age gaps between husband and wife, and woman were mature at an earlier age.

Earth is easily available! What a ASS HOLE. Graveyards are occupying lands,and poors have no place to live.Tons of wood is required!! What a ass hole this man is.We cannot reuse the land once someone is buried there,but places where bodies are burnt can be used again and again and forever.Earth becomes fertile? Because in this very case we are talking about Muhammad, logically, was not a common man, had the God-given wisdom to see what is a child and what is a grown woman. Burried or burned? It totally depends on the religion you believe and on the way you wish it to be done. It should include love and be in accordance with the wishes of the dead.

@mky602 dude nobody goes and uses the graveyard to plow and plant. It happens over time. City's and towns are built on graveyards. The graveyards in middle east are often used and re-used (this happens over very long durations of time) You only need to purchase land if you want to bury someone near you, like within a City. Besides the subject of this discussion is what is scientifically better. I have seen a 5star hotel built on a very old graveyard (in middle of a very posh locality)
