last night Phil Schapp in NY was playing 1940s Basie with Jimmy ( Mr 5x5 he was called, and a tune of that name exists
I was lucky to see Jimmy live once in the 60s near as I recall He lived nearby here on LI NY

Make that thanks VERY MUCH for posting this....perhaps the best thing Jimmy Rushing ever did with Basie, and by extenstion, therefore, the best thing he ever did. Great, terrific, just a joy to listen to ensemble work by Basie organization behind him...this spoils us.
