6ª edition |
2nd October | Vila do Conde's Theatre |
Estimated running time: 45 minutes |
Two people on a scene that is completely empty. Yadi and Cantillon dispense with background music and remain each one with their eyes riveted on those of their partner, throughout an hour that is completely fascinating. Not letting go of one another physically either, the two protagonists at once so dissimilar and yet nearly like twins carry out with perfect mastery a rich combination of postures for two. Beginning with a silent cry, facing each other, mouths wide open, their gestural dialogue evokes all kinds of choreographic references -- from the classical to the Nijinski faun -- and artistic in general (painting, sculpture) without these known forms stifling the originality and interest of the performance. |
