he didnt retire because of his knees being shot he retired because the only reason for him to stay in the league was to tie/break the records and he didnt like the idea of that

He would have gained 4,000 yards per year if he had been with the Cowboys in the early 90's.

@Kunglao63 But that's the reason why he retired though. He didn't want to break Payton's record. Still though, it was an amazing feat Sanders did that in 10 years.

poor man had bad luck to end up with the lions if he had an okay or even good O-line he would have broken every rushing record in the book and even won rings.
