My one quibble: early cultures were egalitarian. It was precisely civilization that created the antisocial climate where men bully women. A wealth of evidence now shows prehistoric cultures = egalitarianism + social responsibility + empathy. Civilization = hierarchy + individual indulgence + anonymity.
