The Brioche Stitch is a combination of stitches that makes a nice, thick, double-sided fabric. In this video we cover both the simple Brioche Stitch, and the two-color Brioche Stitch. Written instructions for this stitch are available for free on my website here:

  • can you do the first 3-5 rows of the brioche stitch? I'm a beginner and I keep getting lost after the first row.

  • @xbbythi In the video, I demonstrate Rows 1 and 2. The rest of the rows are just those two rows repeated over and over. Hope that helps.

  • in row 2 then in the last three i yf s1 k1

  • @sstitanlady Yes, that is what the pattern says, that's correct.

  • verypinkknits how do u start it off is it the same as when u are doing it like on ur video? My sister wants 2 kno

  • @TineeTerror To start the brioche stitch, I used the long tail cast on. YouTube won't let me give you a direct link here in the comments, but you can see my video by searching for "Knitting Help - Long-Tail Cast-On" on my channel page.

  • For the set up row do I cast it on as if to double knit? or do i just Longtail double stranded?

  • Hi Staci I love your videos. They are so helpful and your patterns are great as well. I was wondering if you would consider making a video on doing brioche in the round? I cannot seem to find any helpful videos on here and written patterns confuse me as well.

  • when you're doing the knit two together, it only looks like you're knitting one. Curse my failing vision, but could you do a segment with a closeup? or is there one online you can link me to?

  • I absolutely live this pattern! So easy and te result is very cushy and warm. I was wondering whether you know how to do this using magic loop? If not that could be your next video! :)
