  • excellent fly davie, really looks nice, I hope you like the look of the patterns we have created so far

    :)

  • Hi FlyTyingMadeEasy,

I have had look at your flies and they are coming along well, as I said you will build up a good following as you go along...

    All the best Davie

  • Hey Davie, first let me say that I think you do great work, love the patterns and the well paced easy to follow videos. I have a question about the epoxy you use, the "bug-bond." I recently bought a bottle of liquid fusion, and it says it's fast drying. I let the scud I tied to dry in the vice over night because it would not dry quick enough for my taste. What type of light do you use to help the epoxy setup faster? Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can share. Keep up the good work!

  • Hi simplemonkey,

I have sent you a link to the bug-bond kit I bought as I have never used liquid fusion, and in that you'll see the torch that I use to set the bug-bond. This is the best torch that I have used as it sets the resin in seconds just as you see in the videos..

I'm glad you are enjoying the videos and have a wonderful Christmas...

  • Mr Mcphail Do you ever come down to Dumfries to fish? Seatrouteddy.

  • Hi seatrouteddy,

I have fished the Nith and the Annan over the years but not as much as I would like, I just don't get the time...

    All the best Davie

  • Davie another top tie I will be giving this a go. Thanks for all your efforts.

  • Thank you for the good advice Mr Mcphail. I have a good selection of lures to give a try. God bless. Seatrouteddy.

  • Hi seatrouteddy,

As you know they'll probably be fresh stockies in the loch for the competition so it does pay to have a good lure or two, but as the day goes on then I would defintely fish buzzers for the resident fish. If you have the confidence to fish buzzers all day then go for it, the only reason I wouldn't do this is if the wind was making it hard to slow them up...

I wish you lots of luck....

    All the best Davie

  • Mr Mcphail I would like to say I appreciate all the videos you have takin time over making and posting. My tying would not be as good if it was not for you. I am fishing a comp at end of month and was looking for advice on fly selection. Should I stick to buzzers or is there any other good choices. Much appreciated. God bless. Sea Trout Eddy
