Chien-Ming Wang's two years of shoulder rehab in Florida finally paid off with his first win in Major League Baseball (MLB). Wang led the Washington Nationals to a 3-1 victory against the Chicago Cubs.
In his game on August 9 against the Chicago Cubs, Wang lasted six innings and pitched 81 balls. When he left the mound, he kept the Cubs to only one hit, and no runs. His Earned Run Average dramatically improved from 6.00 to 3.60. But perhaps the greatest comeback of his outing was his characteristic sinkerballs, which dropped across home plate at 89-92 miles per hour.
