    how come textboxes can retain the sate (i.e. the text inside them) when ViewSate is disabled at page level?

  • @yacirkhan Good question! Properties essential for a control to function properly such as the Textbox control's Text property is stored in Control State rather than ViewState. We can disable viewstate for a page or for an individual control but control state cannot be disabled.
