hello friends of woolly,
after this weeks shocking news i thought i would share another clip from the last real maestoso gig...
i remember first hearing this track back in 1979 along with the rest of woollys home demos for the first maestoso album... i've always loved this track, and i'm glad we eventually got to play it live.... just the once.
i'm glad i knew you woolly... r.i.p.

once again, recorded at The Mean Fiddler in London on 12 May 2004 from 1 static video cam at the back of the hall.. sound straight from the camera.

there are more videos to come......
steve.

  • Thanks for posting, I was sorry that I couldn't get to see the concert and so sad to hear of Woolly's death, a brilliant song writer and arranger. Without doubt the best mellotronist ever.

  • Hope you can find some more clips from this gig, Steve...Only Maestoso live I ever saw was the once, supporting Caravan at Bloomsbury theatre 2004.

Good to meet you yesterday outside the church in Saddleworth all be it under sad circumstances.

I listened to all of my 'Uneasy Listening' CD again on the train travelling back to London today.

Thankyou for your music with Woolly.

    frances

  • Thanks very much for posting Steve.

    Great night.

  • Stuart was not a rocker, he was more a poet locked in a rock world and BJH was not the best platform for his ideas but he was a great northern lad and he made me feel good to be with him so many years ago when John, Les and Mel wanted rock stardom (Which they found esp in Germany) but Woolly was a poet and that is special to me, WORDS are the jam in the cake of all great songs. God be with you Woolly, you should have come home to Greenfield.

  • A beautiful song by a man who wrote so many beautiful songs. And thank you for your part in Maestoso, Steve. Please let us have more clips.

  • Thank you so much for sharing!
