  • NICEIC doesn't go for fuck all.

  • @zanders247 The RCD will only isolate the side of the board it is protecting under earth fault conditions, not the individual circuit. For an individual circuit to be isolated under earth fault conditions would require the use of an RCBO on that circuit. The only time an individual circuit would be isolated on the above board would be if the -circuit protective device (MCB) detected a short circuit

  • what a mess !

  • I wouldnt show that id be ashamed to put my name to it. Whats with the gaps between the breakers and it looks like a rats nest inside. Unlucky! Oh and its 10 years for a house, not 5 mate!

  • @JillBattleSlut Earlier consumer units had only 1 RCD protecting the whole house, newer ones have 2 .Both will protect all circuits that need protecting, but the 2 RCD type is more convenient. It only isolates the circuit with the fault, not the whole house.

  • Hold on Part P consumer unit ?

Also the MET has what looks like 6mm cables going to it on a TNCS system

No DNO isolator so was the seal broken

Did this guy serve his time or was he a late starter no offence but they should have checked this before he put it out

The 2 spaces between the breakers is because it should be on space with a blank in it or in other words slide the breakers along to get one space

Also a PIR on a consumer unit change dont you mean an EIC
