The FSA has produced a DVD for people working in butchers' shops to encourage them to think about the type of food safety risks they face in their business and how they should control them.
What an excellent video. It is a terrible tragedy that it took a fatality to bring this about. I sincerely hope that food businesses and the enforcement community will make use of this. I will certainly make use of it in food safety training. Together with the recent guidance on the prevention of cross-contamination from the FSA and an appropriate approach to enforcement by EHOs and other regulators, hopefully prevent a similar situation from occurring again. -Matthew Morris (EHP)
