This is my oldest Betta splendens, a female veiltail named Roosevelt, in her third training session with the ping-pong ball. For now, I'm just teaching her to push it. As you can see, she's caught on pretty quickly. Later on, I might get her to move it in a specific direction or through something. We'll see.
Most of the video will be her approaching the ping-pong ball, bumping or pushing it, and me giving her a reward of BettaMin flakes.
The video is set to traditional-style Thai music, since Bettas are native to Thailand and Cambodia.
heres a tip if the betta doesnt react to the white ping pong ball try differant colors some bettas like differant colors more then others

Pretty good advice - so long as the color's the ping-pong itself, and not some sort of ink or paint that could mess up the water. Make sure the Betta doesn't take the bright coloration as a threat, either. =D Stress is never a good training tool!

It's actually a simple food response just like training a puppy. The first round, I just rewarded her for touching the ping-pong ball. I started with that again the second time, slowly moving to just rewarding when she bumped or pushed it. by this third time, I only rewarded if she bumped it. Bettas are very intelligent and learn things like this quickly.
