A song from the musical play, "Pugad Cordillera" of the College of Arts and Sciences extension, Benguet State University spearheaded by Dr Norma Mayos. The musical play intended to remind all Cordillerans to save and preserve our own beautiful environment. Ka-kai-lian, intako man es-esa ay manbantay sin batawa!

@lokngid when an interesting issue comes up you can't stop arguing bcoz it brings up some more interesting issues which we do not know until we discuss it. If a piece like yours was explained and finished in two sentences that means it's an ordinary one.... There is not even one wisdom to be learn from it. So, if we don't stop arguing because we want to learn and want to share what we got, that in d end we may not agree but we increased our knowledge and wisdom.

I agree with what you propose but I would re-iterate again, all of us might use the term IGOROT and forget CORDILLERA but in the outside world we will always be called CAR because that is what we were being identified with by the Republic of the Philippines so that bringing this to the congress to legally change the name will be the best option. Don't fret, the next song will be Kaigorotan - Sumikyad ka! Thanks. I appreciate!

@lokngid looks like you did not get what i mean. Opportunities like the song you made is one way to use the term. Like what i said, Igorot became our name bcoz it was used to described us, and if we do the same we can strengthen our being an Igorot not our being Cordilleran. So, now that we keep using cordillera, then that will be the name - probably the next name of the Igorot people. why cordillera bcoz they want to pacify the people who can't accept they're igorot. thanks.

@alakdan011468 I believe there is a contradictory to what you're saying. We don't use Cordillera whenever we converse do we? Ay inmey kad Cordillera? No, we say: Ay inmey kad Baguio/or any specific place. Even the people in Manila would say are you IGOROT? not Are you Cordilleran? Now, we use IGOROT, IGODOT, IGOROTA in our everyday conversations so that you're issue of Kaigortoan as being forgotten is farfetched.

Now if the term Kaigorotan is use in describing our place in our daily conversations and writings, and songs, I believed Cordillera will just fall out in the wayside and will eventually forgotten as Kaigorotan silently replaced it without much ado.

@lokngid Remember that the name Igorot became our name because that's how the the people described us longtime ago. Going to congress will not make any difference and they will just politicize it like what happened with the question who are the igorots - one reason cordillera is suggested as the name of our place.

@alakdan011468 Thanks for the comment. I understand what you're trying to say here. You're argument is on the word Cordillera and you want it to be changed as Kaigorotan. That would be nice but sorry the lyrics have been made and if you area song writer you would understand how the words should rhyme so that Cordillera bumangon ka would be apt in this case. Who wouldn't know that Cordillera means Kaigorotan in the Philippines?
