London 2012 Olympics Handover Party Announced

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) has today unveiled plans to host a free outdoor concert to celebrate the handover of the Olympic Flag from Beijing to London during the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games on Sunday 24th August 2008.

The Visa London 2012 Party, to be held at The Mall in London, will officially mark the beginning of London's status as host-city of the 2012 Olympiad. A line-up of top British acts is scheduled to perform, and UK residents can apply for tickets through a free ballot system -- with organisers predicting 40,000 people to attend.
