  • Guys, like you know im from Spain and my English isn´t really good. Thomas Mitose is 10th degree, but he is the Grandmaster number 22 because from the creation of Kosho Ryu system, there have been 22 grand masters.

  • @GojuBob James Mitose taught William Chow, William Chow taught Parker.

  • This looks to me very like the Parker kenpo way of moving (as in the forms demonstrated by Larry Tatum). What is the connection between this and Parker kenpo? I'm very ignorant of such things.

  • Well, it seems as if someone is lying. This video claims that Thomas Barro Mitose is the 22nd Grandmaster of the Kosho-Ryu Kenpo school, but Bruce Juchnik also claims to be the 22th (I'm still trying to figure out what THAT is). So, which one of these men is telling the truth? Please give me a straight answer, as I do not like bullshit.

  • @jintek7

I had the same experience and completly agree with you.

  • Kosho ryu kenpo is the main tree from which all other kenpo arts branch off from.

  • There is a lot of controversy among all the kenpo styles. So many master seek credibility in order to make a profit. I've studied 5 styles if (Mitose) kenpo. Kosho ryu, (Parker) American kenpo, (Castro) shaolin kenpo. (Cerio) shaolin kempo, and (Emperado) kajukenbo. The are all very similar.

I found kosho ryu kenpo to be the least complicated to learn. It is a simplistic and hard hitting martial art. It is probably the least fanciest of all other kenpo arts and it is the main tree from w

  • Not bad, when I studied with Hanshi Mitose, we never saw him perform a kata. To me it was suspicious but his wife at the time explained that it was rude to have the master demonstrate a kata. I git to see him teach endless self defense drills and i know for certain the old mans favorite target was the groin shot.

He would parry or side step the attack and snack you in the groin and finish you off with a follow up attack.

I dont know of Mr Thomas Mitose.

i have videos with Bruce Juchnik.

So I was introduced to Kosho by Mr Juchnik.

Historically, not only in martial arts if not in many areas of life, heredity passed from parent to child.

  • @PablometalHug

you dont just inherit a Grand Master title because you are related to someone.
