Negligent public workers wonder why numerous people, like me, call for massive privatization of public service. But they don't have to look much further. In a private police force, these 2 professionals would get fired within days, and their supervisors and trainers would be on a very hot seat. In other words, they would not even think of misbehaving.
The tolerance for sloppy work is so high in the public sector...No wonder they can't even get right their false flags such as 9/11.
Love,

@cahpSON What is prohibited is "Suspending" a sign. This means that it is necessarily ATTACHED to something (ie: State Property). A hand held banner or sign is not attached to any "encroachment" or part of the freeway infrasturcture. Now, what about MOTIVATION? Why is it not a problem to post a bazillion Advertising signs but if a NON PROFIT group wants to inform people of something, it becomes a beat-you-down offense? How PETTY can you get?Welcome to the Fascist Oligarchy of America.

These jack-booted thugs need to be reminded of their sworn duty...

And when was the last time these pigs passed a physical fitness test?

Is it just me or does that sound a lot like 1937 Germany and the police state? Your papers please!
You're on state property, that all belongs to us State troopers. Funny but state property is supposed to be the commons isn't it? Gotta hate the stooges like that cop, tell me the law all you want I ain't lissnen
It's getting weird these days. You see the Infra Guard, I-Watch, Eco-Rat, neighborhood watch, crime stoppers, cops mentality? Orwell's probably spinning in his grave like a pin wheel.
"Are you aware?" That there is a law against posting signs above the freeway and that you are in violation of the law.

@cahpSON No there isn't. You don't know what you are talking about. There is no California law, rule, Code or regulation that prohibits what we are doing. CHP has explicitly approved our freeway blogging in Davis and other freeway blogging in Hollywood, Berkeley, and Los Angeles. In Berkeley and L.A. they have been doing freeway blogging every month for 3-4 years and yes CHP is fully aware of it as are the local cops.

No you don't need to show "ID", but you do have to tell them your name. "That is requied ".
You also don't have to carry ID on you either. Your "Drivers license" is for when your driving, and you must show it when pulled over for driving.

@Arrowheadmaker Not true. You can't just tell them your name.
First of all my friend told me there was a recent Supreme Court decision on this.
Second just think about it for a second. They say, "What is your name?" and don't demand to see your ID. You tell them your name is Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. End of exchange. What purpose of law enforcement has that served?!

Quick question to the cops... Why produce a "drivers license" when you're not operating a 'motor vehicle' to which the state laws require? A drivers license is for "drivers" not pedestrians, boaters, pilots, bicyclists or jugglers..... (not trying to be cheeky, just critically thinking.)

You're right we were not driving. For better or worse drivers licenses get used as ID, but they are not the only kind.
The cops have the right to ask for ID and, I think, haul you in if you don't produce any. I suppose we could leave as an alternative but we didn't want to do that. If we had ID cards we could show them those.
In other words a state ID card. I haven't looked into getting one.
