It's real simple. Even the mention of drilling brings the price of crude down and therefore gas. Just imagine what actually drilling would do. That's first thing. The next is, after taking that load off, we can then work on bringing alternative energies to parity with oil and coal. Once wind, hydroelectric, natural gas and solar on par with oil the price will plummet because now we have the freedom to chose. Think of it like deregulating Ma Bell. More choices = better prices.

Everything the public expects has been offered up and voted down by republicans, WHY? because they want a drill now drill anywhere bill included. While Big oil is refusing to drill on the 68 million acres both land and sea already approved. You would have to be one stupid son of a bitch not to see this agenda coming. It's cute how the House Repubs actually think "drill here drill now" will really roll gas prices back below $3, or even $3.50, hell even $3.75. Or do they? Are they smarter than that & just pandering? We're drunk on oil and jonesing for a fix, you think the House would vote with its brains? Good thing we have some designated drivers sober enough to see the short-term impulse is not in our long-term interest.
