The opening theme from season one. Written by producer Sherwood Schwartz and Frank DeVol. Sung by The Peppermint Trolley Company.
"Formed in Redwood, CA, in 1967, Peppermint Trolley Company managed to release one album and five singles. They were one of the initial bands signed to the Acta label. Only one of their singles managed to make the charts, "Baby You Come Rollin' Across My Mind." It peaked at number 59 in the summer of 1968. They managed to keep a relatively high profile by performing the weekly TV theme songs for Love American Style and the first season of The Brady Bunch (the cast members sang the theme from the second season on). The band consisted of Bob Cheevers (vocals and guitar), Jimmie Faragher (bass, guitar, and sax), Danny Faragher (keyboards), Casey Cunningham (guitar and flute), and Greg Tornouist (drums). Their success was short lived and by the early '70s the band changed their name to Bones and finally the Faragher Brothers before disbanding. Bob Cheevers gained success as a solo artist, releasing several discs in the contemporary folk genre." ~ Al Campbell, All Music Guide

seems like they had two different opening themes in 1969. For the life of me I cant remember this theme, just the one with more heavy instrumental. But it's been a very long time since I watched this show. A long time!
Just curious - has anyone ever watched the last of the revival/reunion series, the dramedy flop known as The Bradys (CBS, 1990)? If you've seen it, note that the opening sequence begins with the original grid from the first season (1969-70); however, Maureen McCormick's headshot was replaced with a childhood photo of Leah Ayres, who replaced Maureen for The Bradys, thus making her "Fake Marcia." At the end of the sequence, the grid reappears, with the cast members in their present-day shots.
Watch Robert Reeds face when all the children are together. He sneers! Sherwood Schwartz should have just fired him after the pilot and got another actor to play the Mike Brady character. Everyone said all Robert Reed did was bitch and moan about how stupid the shows were and howhe was such a greatactor. DUH!
