During my visit in Ottawa in April 2008, I was impressed by the architecture of the Senate of Canada, usually reffered to as the "upper house" of Parliament. I had never seen such a gorgeous hall in my life. For more information about the Canadian Senate, please visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senate_of_Canada

  • i've been inside there before. I remember my 6th grade trip to Ottawa Ontario Canada back in June 1991. we took a tour throughout the whole parliament building including all the way to the top of the clock tower. the elevator to the top of the clock tower doesn't go up straight, it kinda veers off to the side and it has windows so you can see the clock bells.

  • The Senate is a waste of tax payers money.

It is not a chamber of "second sober thought"

A bill goes through multiple readings in the house, and then is studied by committee and then debated again.

Senttors and their expense accounts, their six figure salaries and their gold plated pensions need to all be cut.

    Abolish the Senate!

  • @baresolid this is the senate chamber not the house of commons its small

no one gives a shit what britian has

    the "motherland" thats a laugh..

  • Looks very cozy.

    Thanks for the upload.

  • I visited the house of commons in July of last year, we didn't even get to come in here, i forget what for but it was nice either way

  • Oh, I was referring to the House of Commons, never mind.

  • Well, we don't really have the population for any more, but 22 will be added soon.

  • Whats the point of pointing out the fact that we have 105 seat? Less is better in this case.

  • 105 seats? Blimey, the House of Lords back in the moterland has about eight hundred now, there'd be more if the hereditaries hadn't been barred too. There's 650 people in the Commons as well, which I suppose adds to the general hurly burly. But it costs a fortune.

Lord Black, a Canadian, is a member of the Lords in Britain, and yet he is in gaol in the United States for stealing hundreds of millions of dollars. I think the Tories have kicked him out but we'll see.

  • Thanks for this, this is beautiful.
