Spoken Hand Percussion Orchestra is a high-energy, internationally unique hand-drumming ensemble unifying four traditional drumming cultures - Afro-Cuban bata, Brazilian samba, North Indian tabla and West African djembe - into one distinct voice. This arsenal of drummers links the historical and contemporary, the ceremonial and the secular, with symphonically textured drumming and choral composition. Spoken Hand is recognized for its contribution to the legacy of world music having collaborated with the likes of Zakir Hussain, Yacouba Sissoko and Rennie Harris.
