what did you make it out of i would love to make some thing like this for my 125

I made this one out of Styrofoam and cement with cement pigments. I would now recommend Drylock instead of cement, the look is almost the same with the exception that Drylock will preserve detail better than cement. You will not have to worry about PH spikes with Drylock or a long curing time. Visit cichlid-forum d o t c o m for great how to's on DIY backgrounds including a few of my own.

@MightyEvilOne I've recently read about Drylock vs Quickrete and Drylock seems to be a good alternative. I've also read about using a heat gun prior to painting on the Drylock to smooth the edges.

@dyamarick Yes, in fact I would recommend those strategies, they work better! Only reason why I suggested other things in my plans is because those plans are old but at the same time, it is how I got the effect in the background of the video you commented on. I am sure you can get similar results with Drylok. It is definitely up to you! I would encourage Drylok and a torch for the newer techniques (be safe!)...
