Well as a employee of SOPUK I can safely say that in my time working on their refinery's and pipeline's, It's Shell's land and it's their choice how they use it. As to the matter of the pipeline being dagerous as it is of high presure, they are designed to withstand extream force both from within and extreior. There is also safty valve's in place to cut off the supply in jsut such a incident. Learn all your fact's before voiceing your pointless views.

I had to read that twice to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. It most certainly is not their land. The land belongs to the people who own it, just as the resources belong to the people of Ireland. If Shell wants it, they should pay for it, just as they should pay for the land they trespass on. Just as you should research the number of pipeline ruptures that have occurred before voicing your views.

The problem with Shell and their project is that is Putin decides to take it out in retaliation for pollution in Russia either with an anti-ship missile or worse a large underwater blast at the well heads then fire the gas on the water which would burn for months as no support ship could get in to plug the well heads. For anyone that has any doubts as to the safety of high pressure Gas lines check out what happened in San Bruno CA on Sept 9th 2010. I heard the explosion and watched the flames also saw the ash from peoples homes rain down. I am from County Sligo and now live in San Bruno .WOLFGANG remind me again how safe High Pressurs Gas lines are. Prayers for all the people that lost their lives and their homes.
