After 13 long years the classic logo was retired in 1986, and on Thursday 3rd April 1986 a completely new one was launched on a live edition of the show. This was the first computer-generated title sequence for Top of the Pops. Groundbreaking at the time! A new theme tune was also brought in to mark the occasion - "The Wizard" by Paul Hardcastle. This logo would last until Christmas 1988!

    Remember this REALLY well! One thing though, why didn't they have a CD on the sequence, they were really starting to become popular around 1986.
