merrill's e natural aperta en final'meeeeeeeeee'nte. is simply perfection. the equilibrium between technical prowess, challenge and absolute beauty is achieved there. incredible.

This is fantastic of course and nothing beats a high quality live recording like this. So great to hear the real natural echo of concert hall (listen to Merrills' "finalmeeente!") rather than the artificial reverb of a studio recording.

I still have it signed by both men on the original 2 LP's that came out shortly after the concert they both sang the same basic concert in Chicago in May of that year 4 mos. after this. The Chicago concert I thought was every bit as good or better but was never released. This was wonderful, thanks for the post.

This CD was released in 1993 for the 20th anniversary of the concert and is long out of print. GermanOperaSinger has it on CD now.
