Good people should be braver than bad people. Educated minds should be braver than ignorants. Believers should be braver than nonbelievers...
From the documentary "Empire of Faith". About how two different religions, cultures coexisted in peace. http://www.pbs.org/empires/islam/
It just shows how tolerent islam was before the crusiders the murdres..

According to Islam, God always sent messengers to tribes and I heard of the number of messengers as many as 124000 or 224000, not certain. Most did not have a book like Qoran or Bible. Some had only a few pages. Maybe this has something to do with your question.

How do you explain buddhism or mayan religions, something that predates modern christianity by thousands of years?

pktheunbearable: This is my last reply to you. Read and spend some time to understand my critics otherwise you will NOT find me as a collocutor. It is fun to reply you but I do not have to.
"The top 2 donating countries have atheist populations above 15%" does say nothing about who make that donations, or what type of donations made, ie for tax exemption?
And by the way our topic was history. How Muslim and Christian congregations lived in peace...

Paralaks there is some doubt, as although there are few atheist countries, they donate just as much, and in some cases more than theist countries (per capita, per $1000 of GDP). These include the Netherlands (3rd), and Sweden (7th). The top 2 donating countries have atheist populations above 15%. This is hardly a flawless correlation, as the Netherlands and Sweden are in northern Europe, but it is sufficient for doubt. I yearn for people to help each other, not out of delusion but compassion.

At the same time many people devote time & money to charity because of faith. There is no doubt that for every bad person motivated by religion, we have maybe thoussands trying to do something good. The problem is the bias... To help people abusing faith by blaming faith...

Clearly there is a neurological aspect to violence; there is also the environmental interaction that provides the motive and pattern of violence. Culprits include the 'afterlife', the 'will of god' etc.
Fundamentalist Christians have attacked Jewish centers, attempted to poison municipal water supplies, bombed abortion clinics, and assassinated abortion providers. Jews killed for their 'promised land'. Muslims routinely suicide bomb civilians, and conducted 9-11.

My point was, attach some cables into the brain and see if it is gender difference, religion, politics or something in the brain that causes violence whatever the excuses are... amygdala for instance, is a better explanation.

You are discussing a peripheral issue. Domestic violence has seldom sparked mass hatred or wars on the same scale as religion, and it does not diminish the facts.
Fortunately gender violence is becoming less accepted by people. - Except if a man is the victim.
Watch this clip once: watch?v=n9IHcwmws1U consider that it got to TV. Next imagine a perfect gender reversal: man is woman, and woman is man, and consider if that would get on TV. Where's that kind of ad? Is it gender equality?

We humans have more disagreements in our lives. For instance:
Violence Against Women in the United States
MURDER. Every day four women die in this country as a result of domestic violence, the euphemism for murders and assaults by husbands and boyfriends. That's approximately 1,400 women a year, according to the FBI. The number of women who have been murdered by their intimate partners is greater than the number of soldiers killed in the Vietnam War.
