I think it was a failure because they had someone who does not have good intention and ruled the town, called Jim jones,preaching all these nonsense and eventually, ruined everyone's lives. If they had someone who is genuinely good and caring, then jonestown would've been still alive until now.

I remember this being on the evening news. Had a hard time drinking Kool Aid after this event as a kid. I personally think that it should be taught in the class rooms. Kids should be made aware of all of the sick and demented people that were and are still are there in today's society.

When I was younger I used to think it foolish that a group of people could become manipulated by one person to the point that they would allow themselves to be murdered. Now I understand that fear is a powerful thing and that it's easy to point a finger at the mistakes and declare the obvious steps that we would have taken but again, we were not there.
