Saturn Astra. Europe. Sure, it's a continent but to many Americans it means so much more. From the Euro-Sealer to the Euro-Jet, almost any product seems more exotic, more exciting and somehow better with a little European flair. And the same holds true for automobiles.
Saturn was originally established by General Motors to fight the rising prominence of import brands in the US. So it is ironic that Saturn has pinned its hopes for defending its home turf on a car imported directly from General Motor's key European division, Opel. Irony aside, the Astra brings an added dose of style and excitement to the Saturn lineup, something the brand needs to continue its dramatic turnaround. • I DONT GOT A FUCKIN SUNROOF, IVE BEEN HAD

  • Most police forces in the UK use these LOL

  • I own the XR two door and they barely went over how amazing it is! It handles like a dream, brakes are good, and let me tell you, the heated seats are a god send when its cold outside! Many of my friends and family are impressed and love to drive it more then their cars! I would import another one in a heartbeat!

  • Hey America if you dont like the Opel Astra then dont imprt it, call it a Saturn then complain about its lack of bluetooth. Over here in Europe its a brilliant car.

  • The US Astra gets a poor spec it seems. Had to laugh at this 'simple style review for people'. The control icons are a bit different on these but nothing exceptional, you need to be monumentally retarded not to get used to it.

I love my grey 5 door 1.7 SRI superchiped up to 123 bhp. And I get 55 mpg (UK gallon) it's never gone wrong.

  • Loled so much when she said it may confuse American drivers. What are they moron?. All American car's buttons are labeled in English cos as far as Americans are concerned, there is no other language, at least not one worth considering. In Europe there are so many languages spoken in such a small area, the buttons are labeled with icons because changing the buttons in every different country would be unnecessarily expensive. In the Uk is the VAUXHALL Astra, but there's a new one now.

  • GM should have dropped someone else other than Saturn. I'm glad Pontiac is gone though.

  • It has more than one cup holder, The other two are hiden in the back seat!!

  • @Wuodan1979 ...and an idiotic idea. What made Saturn such an amazing success when they debuted in the early 90s was that they were practical, simple, stylistically unique, more powerful, better equipped, and cheaper than their imported competition. They were also exceptionally reliable, had a great dealership policy and customer loyalty...and were all-American. To try to recapture that success by rebadging a foreign car is, like I said, idiotic.
