@amazinone212 you dont even know what youre talking about,do you?if you did,you would know that on steep hills brakes are RARELY even used at all!we use our commpression,transmission,and hydraulic retarders,to keep our speeds steady!at least the smart ones.

@Hitachizaxis870 not an elevating scraper(ie623,633) just a scraper.a 631.generally the first # denotes a scraper(6),second # = size(1,2,3,4,5),and third #=,1 standard scraper,3 elevating scraper,7 twin engine scraper.then the model letter,C,D,E,F,G. i think thats how it goes?

Has no one asked what it was DOING on a concrete overpass? Unless it rolled off of a heavy haul....

If you cant tell the difference between an excavator and a scraper, don't post a vid about it

Pan. ...
-
ouch!:(

Its painfully obvious to anyone that works with machinery,that it is an elevating scraper.Definitely not a grader(three axles) or excavator(usually on tracks).Most probably from the Cat stable.

Actually guys, thats called a pan.
What if it fell across the road below. Could have been catastrophically worse.

It did, on its way down it clipped the outside lane wall of the Northbound lane 35 causing a huge gap/peice missing out of the cement clearly visible at .13 seconds.
This caused a lane closure that lasted most of the summer until it was repaired.

Yes , you are right; i am sorry !
It was from my first "overview" and it looked like a dumper but indeed it is a scraper.
Thank you
All the best

Well, if you really want to be technical about it, it's called a Caterpillar 631c Scraper.
It was however called an excavator by the Minnesota State Patrol in the Duluth News Tribune article that came out that day on their website.
