@manumike100 Deen has a higher vocal range. Each of those songs, especially "Mother Father" are up in a range that Arnel would really have to strain to hit. Deen has a range very close to as high as Steve Perry, but he simply does not have a strong timber ( color, depth, tone whatever you want to call it ) So, although he does have a high voice, it is not really a gr8 voice to be a lead singer. Tonally Deen's voice is kinda thin and reedy, not warm and full like Steve Perry, or Arnel.

@Musicfan1020 As far as I know, there are certain songs that Arnel doesn't really like attempting, so this gives Deen the opportunity while Arnel has a breather during setlists. Same goes for songs like "Mother Father", "Keep On Running" and "Still They Ride".
