Ever seen that episode of family guy when he completely re writes the king and i.... Well this is pretty much how i concluded this movie. :-) the only thing i watched it for was the dresses, and the pretty colors, other than that i forget about it pretty easily...

and then call it an art!
im sick when i see how much some people love this movie! its disparagement of the history, art... Im trying to believe it wasnt on purpose, sophia and the whole cast and crew have no idea about what we are talking about now... they live in their own american world, no wonder.. crap movie, absolutely nonprofessional

ikssm... please wake up! his movie is a total crap... if you are american teenager who has no idea about the rest of the world I can understand... but if you´re not you should watch it again and carefully. why? first of all - this is a story about today-american teenager in an expensive french 18th century dress. then: music?-american rock band in french historical movie??? r u serious?+ american actress representing french queen+historical non-senses+colors are in each movie... wake up pls :)

LOL IKR? Even if the were speaking with French accents . . . that doesn't make it more "authentic." In reality, they wouldn't be speaking accented English AT ALL. They'd be speaking French! So people need to just let it be. It's called suspension of disbelief. Unless you want to read subtitles. =P

Don't you just Hate when American Film makers try to do European History films? The Yanks can barely get their own History correct! Accents people! ! !

@poseidonrocks123 Lol, from the rich side of things

me encanta esta pelicula, y es maria antonieta no la revolucion francesa... es por eso que el contenido historico pasa a segundo termino.

Screw accents, they should speak French!
-
hahah you are right!
but we can't forget Marie Antoinette was from Austria and she wasn't French at all =)

I think people who bitch over accents are the worst. Sure, it would be nice to have authenticity, but that's not how the English-speaking movie industry works. I'm not going to miss out on a good movie over a minor setback like accents...
This was a beautiful film.

Marie Antoinette did die, because of the French Revolution. But in the movie they do not show it, or any part of Marie Antoinette's life when she was is the Bastille (the French prison). The movie chose to show the young girl, who became the glamorous queen of France and lived life as she wanted to. It was a very good movie (even though many disagree)and I think you'll enjoy it.
