update!
i am not to sure right now i talked to some people about it and its listed online in the sg's but its a reissue from when they first made les pauls they looked like sg's but with 3 pickups

ok this is the measage i got from sombody who also has the same guitar

Yeah I know it wasn't for me but I didn't want it getting way more complicated than it is already!

http://epiphone.com/default.asp?ProductID=27&CollectionID=16

It's in the SG section of the Epiphone main site.

To me, it's an SG because its an Epiphone SG, the orginal is indeed a Les Paul, at least ubtil it got re-named lol

cheers

Niall

so there we go its a les paul but its also an sg! wich doesent really make sense cause on the guitar it says les paul custom but on the website it says sg-400 custom oh well

  • in 1961, Gibson introduced the "SG" caling it a Les Paul without Les' authority. He didn't like it, and they changed the name to SG

but when this guitar camed out, it was the Les Paul Custom

  • it was called les paul custom in the 60's

  • MAN! This is rare guitar!

  • it used to be called les paul along time ago but Les Paul didn't like it and they already had a les pauk so they took it off and left the les paul name on it, but i just still think les paul, but sg

  • They stopped making Les Pauls in 1959 due to the success of the strat, so they decided to release the "SG" (Solid Guitar) and continued the "Les Paul" motif on release. Due to the iconic name, and Les prototyping their first solid body guitar 10-15 years previous, It was a cheaper alternative to manufacture and it wasn't until they re-released the Les paul body shape again in the 60's that they change fit officially to "SG" and made it it's own guitar. These are now called SG-400 "Les paul."

  • It's an epiphone sg les paul costum

  • dude, its obviously an epiphone sg.... look it up on the internet... lol stop messing around....

  • Oh i thought it was gibson

  • @XgameboycolorX its an epiphone they have that Gibsons dont

  • Its supposed to be a replica of the old sg's from way back in the late 50's or early 60's when they changed the les paul model to that. Thats why it says les paul.
