The dance was lovely and very well performed, but ATS is not meant to be danced alone, a two or more member troupe is a necessary key to this style as per the very definition of it.

I am flattered that you took inspiration from our troupe demo video. But please note that not everything we do is ATS, and some of the movements and combos you have taken from our video, and paired with this music, are not ATS but fusion choreographies. And frankly, the rest of the movement you put around them are not ATS either. You might want to consider changing your video title to avoid confusion and better reflect your fusion dance style. Keep working on it, and have fun!

Nice dance, I'm pretty sure these people enjoyed it. However, it is not ATS, because ATS is a mixture of belly dancing combos, infused with flamenco. It's a queued form of dance. But thanks for the upload.

I agree, not ATS. I would say the costume is ATS inspired. The dance however and the music is not ATS as developed by Carolena.

As for the venue. Senior Citizens love dancers that come to visit them! Friends and I have danced at two nursing homes in the last month and they always are so welcoming and asking that we return again to share more with them. I've gone with a mixed group of dancers performing both FCBD style ATS and Cabaret and we always are very well received.

I dance once a year for my residents and they LOVE it. ((says THEM!)) Now I have one of their daughters that even comes and brings her family to watch and they join in with zaghareets and all.

This dancer is not dancing in a provocative way by any means. I feel you are assuming things about this dancer and these people, when how can you really know for sure? Your personal experience as a nurse doesn't mean it is true for everyone. I know a bellydancer teacher who both teaches and is warmly welcomed in residential care facilities. Aspyn, you go girl. You are a lovely dancer and your heart is in a good place

I understand wanting an audience but this is the wrong choice. People this age are very conservative. You probley insulted them. How embarrassing for them. I have been a nurse for twenty years in a nursing home and I would never allow this. I love belly dancing but it is considered seductive to these guys. Very inappropriate.

You are right zoodetoo. This is not ATS. I think that people should label their videos accurately. ATS has a specific syllabus of moves created and developed by Carolena Nerricio of Fat Chance Belly Dance, none of which were performed here.
