One of the aspects i like about live looping is starting with an "blank canvas" improvisation which i never know where it will take me.In this piece i started improvising with some spontaneous flamenco ideas and whatever that came to mind. Then i started a static pulsating loop and then began pitch shifting it and recording some drum beats made with my mouth. As the piece evolved i also recorded a track in double speed to get a dreamy "toy music box" sort of sound.
To do all of this i use my guitar and voice microphone which goes to a looping software on my macbook computer controlled with a MIDI pedalboard which allows me to send the comands i need to arrange the music on the fly.
When this video was sent to me, i could not remeber what i had done.As i hear the music i could picture being somewhere under the ground so i named it "cuevas" which means "caves".
Some of the images you see are from an amazing place in San Luis Potosi Mexico called "cuevas de golondrinas" which i thought suited the music quite well.
