My first Archery elk

This is my first year of archery elk hunting. I will never go back to gun hunting elk again. I am hooked. This was taken at 18 yards. The shot I had was a direct frontal angle so I shot just below the chin and above the brisket, he ran 200 yards and left a blood trail Ray Charles could have followed.

Just back from official P&Y scoring and final tally of 301 3/8 gross 283 5/8 net. As a first bull I could not be more happy.

@Zaon90 becaus gettin that close (10-30) is more of a rush & takes more skill than shooting from 100-200 yrds . & with a well placed arrow they die in minutes. I shot a deer with a 30-06 hit the heart & a lung it ran 150 yrds.

Archery... Why use that ancient Method when we get better and efficent ways of hunting? Just stupid in my opinion to cause the animal more suffering and more pain, A bullet kills the animal within 10-20 seconds with a good shot... I don't see the point but hey that's americans...
