Big Sandy Machine Gun Shoot Promo

Quick stills and video from various machine-gun shoots between 2006 and 2008. Displays activities and people who meet in a remote area of the north western Arizona desert to shoot automatic weapons at exploding targets and remote aircraft drones. The three day event is open to the sensible public. Video and still images captured by Rob and Larz. Editing was Rob.

@Roflzmahwoflz, yeah, the hollow elephant wasn't political it was just cute. Made by those nice young ladies at the start of the video. Before the elephant on a previous shoots, they had a hollow cow and pig. The elephant was the last of this string. Since then, no other hollow figures have showed up.

@bullstriker1992, The one with the guy behind a table with this huge tube of steel on skis- The Finish 20mm, L-39 Lahti anti-tank rifle. Used in the early 1940's on weak areas of tanks, long distances, or other fortified positions. Obsolete by the end of the war, they make great civilian shooters if you have 1200 yard backstops. In the U.S. it's considered a destructive device and regulated by the NFA of 1934. Requires some hoops to own, but not too bad. Ammo is pricey.

@0309davis, It's near Wikieup, AZ. Next shoot is OCT 22-23-24. I will convoy up from Phoenix on Thursday, 21OCT10 if you want to follow me in. About 4.5 hours from Phoenix since I'm driving the deuce and a half. You could make it in 3 if you're one of those 80 mph people. Check the website (upper description) for details.
