This is my first prototype of a joulethief sec exciter.I have incorpareted a 4kv trigger transformer into a joulethief circuit and it seems to behave very much like Dr stifflers sec circuit using inductors. The interesting thing with the joulethief sec is the current draw remains the same even when loaded and the circuit is very stable with no tuning issues. If anyone wants to try this,i recomend using a torroid from a cfl bulb first and then go from there.

  • WAOU ! Great !!

Would it not be a recovery of HF waves in the form of a voltage ??

So, if we had the same experience in the middle of nowhere (for example: the desert), we would have the same result ?

  • @sygma707.Thanks.You can look at this circuit as having two parts,a transmitter and reciever. The transmitter radiates high frequency high voltage AC and the av plug can be viewed as a half wave rectifier and is very good at converting rf energy into DC and it would work anywhere including the desert if you had power because the energy is from the battery, this circuit just uses the energy very efficiently but the stable amp draw is a bit of a head scratcher. Thanks for your comment.Jonny.

  • 5 Stars! (if they still had been around....)

It seem pretty revealing from what you have done here, that it isn't electron current that is exiting the metal surface you connected it to. Even the amp draw didn't change!!!!

    Great video Jonny Davro!

  • Many thanks Nabo00o.I have been experimenting with these exciter circuits for a while now and i am still saying wow to myself as some of the things they do defy logic.Jonny

  • Did you ever get a reading of the amperage drawn from the brightest array of LEDs and comapre with what the transmitter was drawing?

  • hey how di you make this step by step what tools did you use, and how much power did you use

  • Hi Jeanna.I think this is right up your street as the joulethief and sec are related by resonance and a joulethief torroid with secondaries works really well as a replacement for rf chokes or air coils in a sec circuit.Have you seen my Sec torroid hybrid vid?.I think your large jeanna torroid, used like this would increase output tremendously. Many thanks and happy experimenting.Regards jonny

  • Thanks chazdaspazman.Hopefuly more to come on this yet so stay tuned.Regards jonny.
