Exhibits at the Eco Products International Fair 2009

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo attended the 5th Eco-Products International Fair (EPIF) 2009 at Mall of Asias SMX Convention Center in Pasay City to highlight the governments advocacy for sustainable production and consumption of environment-friendly products.

The President toured a diverse exhibit of the newest and most advanced eco-friendly products and technologies available in the market today. One of these exhibit booths is the Department of Trade and Industrys (DTI) Bayong Development Project where she observed an ongoing bayong bag weaving done by women working under the Comprehensive Livelihood Emergency Employment Program (CLEEP).

The four-day EPIF 2009 is an opportunity for a more effective promotion of green brands and environmental marketing strategies to the general public and consumers. Key international players and executives from over 100 local and international leading corporations participated in this largest environmental fair and conference in Asia.

It is being organized by the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), and Philippines Business for the Environment (PBE). (MDF/RJU)
