Can you find this organ a home? Links to further details about this organ otherwise to be scrapped are on the "more info" of the "Plea for Organs" video http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MW1oOTiFoOk

Here I'm taking us on an unguided tour of the instrument and on another video there's a guided tour of the stops from the console and other videos of Mark Cyphus playing the last recital.

Instruments such as this can inspire young people such as Luke Nivan http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=kEvtJASzDdw or by way of concerts by inspirational players such as Dr Pitches http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=CKbTNBupUTA who works as a Doctor in the Congo and comes back to England to play the organ to fundraise for http://www.medair.org

Can you find a home for this instrument? Playing the organ is such a mind expanding gift you can give to a young person . . . Can you be Santa this Christmas and find somewhere for this instrument in January?

  • This organ was saved. The Christian Science church building at Nutford Place was taken over by the Sylvia Young Theatre School, to expand their training facilities. They had no use for the organ.. Accordingly, they allowed the church to donate the organ, at no cost, to St Michael's Church, Abertillery, where it was installed over the period 2009/2010.

  • @Bblandford Hi! Brilliant! I had not heard of the rebuilding progress - when is the inaugural recital?

  • Hmm, So this organ was melted down in January? LIkely because no one could ever tune it and sounded awful--shame-did anyone there hear of LIGHTS!!! SHEESH. That was awful. All this groping around "oh look at dat...ouch...here's a door, sorry 'bout the lights". It was not just a minor inconvenience it was disaster of a video--a great big tease. I wanted to see it. That "thing" we saw wasn't a chest it was a "reservoir" or "regulator" and it wasn't in good shape. It looked as if it'd been patched.

  • Was this truly scrapped? Terribly sad if it was.
