Surfing footage in Carlsbad, CA - December, 2006. A music soundtrack was not necessary but could have been added. This is also a compact videography lesson regarding optical vs digital zoom. Yes - the power plant is across the street. What about the houses? Or are those south?

Yeah- I remember another guy getting video that day - He was using a Canon... XL2, I think. And I remember he had a funky battery set up to power an external drive - like a FireStore. It was cool.

Canon XL2? Yes. Nice pro-grade - but standard definition only. The XH and XLH series are in the same park but do standard def DV and high def HDV format video...

i haven't looked yet but im guessing they are a lot more expensive than just the standard definition. am i right? hahah
