  • I've listened to perhaps 20 recordings of this Nocturne, and none of them came close to the musical depth of this performance. Your emotional power is matchless. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

  • It seems as though a lot of even the big names in piano fail to make the chromatic octaves 'fit' into the music, making it seem like the composition itself is flawed. You manage to give every part of this composition a musical significance. The best interpretation!

  • @bfl800fi ill take a look

  • @bfl800fi Search "ValentinaLisitsa Chopin Nocturne Op 48 No.1 C minor"

  • @juiceforjoe Like this one better?

  • @marcose1994 A look at me, I'm a jackass who can't enjoy a piece because it wasn't played the way he wants! Everything must be played the exact same way because Chopin said so! Even though he's been dead for almost 200 years and we have never heard him play before! That doesn't matter though, because I'm a know-it-all!!! I'm so special! Instead of leaving, I'm going to bash a pianist's style of playing!!! WOHOOOO!!! I'm cool.

  • marry me.

  • @marcose1994 yes, I have a pleasure to listen to Shopin and with good player. And she has a talent as we all know. so I couldn't resist leaving a comment. I'm on the "want to sleeping" side you know (or may be a lion). As far as I think it is good balance of romantic complicated score and playing like a flowing. Thank you.

  • @Mysiblingsasuke Too emotional doesn't even describe it. Sorry but Chopin must be turning in his grave at this performance. Pro or not, she should know better. Chopin would never have put his audience to sleep, if he even had one, for his music wasn't written to please others necessarily. But I can tell you it wasn't meant to put a lion to sleep. And who told her to hammer the octaves in slow motion. Sorry but listen to Rubenstein and others of his ilk. Stop drooling over the piece and play it.

  • @icxcrex you realize you are 'correcting' a professional player?

  • skilful but too emotional.

  • Beautiful performance; however, "Lento" as well as the Italian for "slow," indicates a mood as well. This is a lament, a sorrow, a heaving of the breast in sobs! You begin at fewer than 40 bpm (minimum in some schools regarding "Lento") and then use so much "rubato," it is difficult to pick up the beat. Pick the tempo up to at least 50 for the first section. Your "rolls" in the second section are very good - again, a wee bit faster. The third section is flawless! Well done! :)
