Criminals are criminals because they disregard the law. Thus, ban guns, criminals will then be the only ones with them. Which means mass-murder! Simple, easy, and pragmatic!

@WalrusDoom We train 7 days a week and we train hard. If you do that without wearing protective gear or using padded weapons you break bones very quickly and then you can't train at all. We also train with limited armor and with steel knives (but this is much more dangerous and has much greater risk of injury). We promote training smart, training often and taking risks once in a while rather than ending up in hospital before you've put the time and grade into training.

One sidenote that I couldn't fit earlier. Guns were first used in Europe in the late 1400's. They didn't pose a real threat to armored men till 1600. After the advances and lessons learned during the Renaissance became widespread. Most people would call that ancient. ^_^

BTW, you will always have nutcases. However, there is a much higher risk by removing the arms/right/capability to defend oneself or family. If you do that, the only people with weapons will be criminals, psychopaths, terrorists etc. As a result, I concede that it is a complicated issue. However, the real risks and the real consequences are what should drive a decision; not some idealistic long-winded guesswork. See the facts without bias.

So you want modern examples... Britain, Ireland, France, Norway etc. All the European countries that passed Gun Control laws, their murder and crime rates skyrocketed. So they took away the guns. The crime rate increased by a further 2-5 percentage points (minimum); as some countries it is still rising. Only in Switzerland and Sweden are the crime rates low. So, you and your 'pro-criminal' friends go over there if you like the idea so much. Don't come back if you do...

In Canada you have the right to own guns, much more than here, & you know what? Less crime. They sleep with their door's unlocked. I totally beleive in the 2nd Ammendment. Why does our goverment want to control use so much? The average citizen lives in feer because we are like lamb waiting to be slaughtered.It's true, the criminals will ALWAYS find a way to get guns & if they go to prison? It's like going to college. They learn more about crime.
