I can pronounce this, but I don't know exactly what they mean. The pictures aren't enough.

@postle4 That's why you have to do the core lesson first to learn the words. This lesson is just to practice pronunciation of words you learned in the previous core lesson.

Why is it a woman that pronounces kochen? (Kitchen). Coincidence? I think not!

@jegersejet it is a coincidence. By the way, kochen = cook, Küche = kitchen.

try deutsch-lernen .c o m its free and it works well but some things you will have to figure out by yourself on google and stuff. use your resorces!

@ghgg99 I have used that site a little. I have also been using livemocha which is good for practice, but not really learning a language. I also watch videos on YouTube which really helps with listening skills.

I don´t this program, but as a German I think it would be better to learn the "normal" verb forms like "Lesen" and using this verb later to conect it. "Mädchen liest".... because if you learn it like that, it might be the that you use this word for the past too.

But the past form is "las"

@Daintytwinkletoes It doesn't show you the English words because it's trying to teach you how you learned English. You learn to associate that specific word with a specific item, not its English equivalent.
