The story of Jesus is a fictitious story with the purpose of delivering a simple message: Crucify your selfish passions, allowing the old man to die, and to be reborn as a new creature that observes morality; morality brings out the best in humans, immorality brings out the worst in humans. The story is a means to teach this lesson and does so in a beautiful way. Believers need to understand that the story if fictitious and non believers shouldn't forget the point of the story.
