What makes entrepreneurs out of Zumba dancers?

Delegation is considered by top business leaders as the single most powerful high leveraged activity. Stephen Covey dedicates a section of his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, to this specific topic.

I read an article in Inc. magazine that featured the Zumba creator and founders which addressed this particular activity. However I saw that delegation was brought to life by linking it to passion. In this case it was the great trio dance, music, and fitness which has made famous lots of fitness leaders.

Currently the fitness program Zumba has seen a surge of trainers who are becoming aspiring and full fledge entrepreneurs. Between 2008 to 2009 the number of Zumba instructors have tripled across the world with about 7.5 million people attending classes every week making "Zumba fitness" very popular.

Beto Perez created Zumba by sheer accident. I just love his story because he interlinked his passion for music, dance and fitness. He turned his passion to a gospel of sorts and now he and the co-founders of Zumba, Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion, have created The Zumba Instructors Network.

The leadership at Zumba are on a mission to support their instructors who are fitness entrepreneurs. They used delegation as a part of their business model as a way to grow their organization and their instructors.

Do you have a mission for your business? I learn a great deal by looking and keeping my eyes on companies that are making a difference and inspiring people to be more. Who are you observing and what are you learning from that company and its leadership?
