Harlem, NY -- The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is evicting up to 10 commercial tenants, collectively named the Fredrick Samuel Merchant Association, located in Harlem. NYCHA leases commercial store space for retail and professional uses, with market competitive rents, negotiable terms and attractive incentives for substantial renovations. This comes on the heel of a claimed deficit of $198bn, rampant corruption and drastic cuts for senior and youth community programs. These evictions are in stark contrast to serving entrepreneurial initiative it boasts on the agency's website. The establishments are forced to close without sound reasoning from NYCHA. The tactic is the all too familiar, exponentially raise the rents to ensure you won't be operational.
Three establishments shared their stories: Fred's Hardware and Beauty Store, Danny and Mel's Barbershop, and Elite Boutique.
What about Al Sharpton or Jessee Jackson? They are always looking for a confrontation. Especially if it's racial.

We're so black and disenffranchised. Next time buy a building to start a business in. Don't lease. When that lease is up landowner has every right to their property. They do not have to renew the lease.

Question: What did your black representative do to protect their constituents? I know nothing.
